In his role as a criminal law solicitor, Imran regularly attends at the police station and magistrates’ courts. Whether its late at night or early in the morning. Imran’s calm and friendly manner immediately puts clients at ease. Allowing him to focus on giving clients the best possible advice.

We are proud to say that Imran is a serving part-time district judge in the Magistrates courts. Of course, this is a hugely privileged position that carries considerable responsibility.

Gina Steele – Mental Health Solicitor

If you are looking for representation from a mental health solicitor, Gina Steele brings a wealth of experience to the role. Gina was admitted to the roll in England and Wales in 2011. And since 2012, she has been an accredited member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Panel.

In her role as mental health solicitor at Kendalls Solicitors, she represents patients detained under the Mental Health Act, advocating for their rights, and challenging their detention. As well as covering hospitals across the North of England, providing legal representation to patients at:

  • Mental Health Tribunals – advocating for patients seeking discharge or challenging the lawfulness of their detention.
  • Hospital Managers’ Hearings – ensuring fair consideration of a patient’s continued detention.
  • Care Programme Approach (CPA) Meetings – supporting patients in discussions about their care, treatment, and discharge planning.

Further to this, Gina has a strong passion for ensuring that Deaf detained patients receive equal access to justice. Recognising the barriers faced by Deaf individuals within the legal and healthcare systems, she began learning British Sign Language (BSL) in 2017, achieving BSL Level 6 in 2019.

To further this commitment, Gina then embarked on the journey to become a sign language interpreter and has been a Trainee Sign Language Interpreter (TSLI) since 2023. She hopes to fully qualify as a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) in 2026.

Gina’s professional ethos is rooted in advocacy, fairness, and ensuring that all individuals can navigate the legal system with confidence and clarity.

Robin Phoenix – Motoring Law Solicitor

In his role as motoring law solicitor, Robin Phoenix who has over 25 years’ experience in the field best describes himself as “Gamekeeper turned Poacher”.

Originally an officer in the Lancashire Constabulary, a large part of which was spent as a Traffic Officer dealing with all manner of motoring incidents from Fatal Road Traffic Accidents to the everyday matters that affect motorists.

Robin became a Custody Sergeant before a serious Road Traffic Accident led to him leaving the Force.

Thereafter Robin studied at Lancaster University and Chester Law School before qualifying as a Solicitor with a Lancashire firm. Robin then spent many years with a much larger firm , eventually becoming its Senior Partner.

Moving away from the vagaries of Practice Management some years ago, Robin decided to practice in the area of law that he started with the Police Force – Motoring law.

In his role as motoring law solicitor, Robin travels the country representing clients in respect of motoring matters with a particular expertise of ‘licence retention’. Whilst also retaining a general practise in all aspects of Criminal Law.

Robin is well known and respected by the Courts and Prosecuting Authorities alike. And has been a Duty Solicitor for over 20 years. Imran and Robin have worked together for over twenty years which is a testament to their steadfast and reliable nature.

We'd love to hear from you
